(*3) The Bi-AMP and ZONE speakers cannot be used simultaneously. However, if a power amplifier is connected to the ZONE 3 PRE/LINE OUT jacks in the "Connecting an Integrated Amplifier (ZONE 3)" ( →p72) function, ZONE 2 (ZONE SPEAKER) and ZONE 3 (ZONE SPEAKER) can be used. (*2) When using Bi-AMP or ZONE 2 (ZONE SPEAKER), the "Connecting an Integrated Amplifier (ZONE 3)" ( →p72) function cannot be used. (*1) The "Connecting an Integrated Amplifier (ZONE 3)" ( →p72) function cannot be used. If it's so easy to find, why not just post the info and link it and help others? RZ50 manualįorums are meant to be helpful, telling somebody to read a manual isn't that helpful and pretty understandable if somebody missed a footnote on page 199 of a manually like that. Thank youįor the "Just read", seems that this is footnote on page 199 so after 3 or 4 hours of searching, seem to have found it. Is there anyone out there that would know of something I might be missing or any suggestions. So if I don't use them, I will have wasted my money. Oh, and for those of you that would tell me to forget about the surround back speakers, I already invested on those speakers and in wall installation of speaker wire for all speakers. I can't think I am the only one that will get this nasty surprise. I asked customer service if I could assign the zone 2 speaker terminal to height 2 and they said no. Now it looks like I will need yet another small amp just to drive my 2 back surrounds. I was expecting to have connections in the back for all speakers or to be able to assign any speaker terminals on the back to what ever I would need. I am not using that to drive surround back speakers. Only problem to that is I already have an ext amp that I paid as much for as the RZ-50. After doing some digging, the manual, shows that they want you to use an ext amp to drive the back surrounds, and then use the open speaker terminal to connect the 2nd height speakers to that. On the speaker menus and calibration, no sound is coming out of the 2nd atmos speakers. I connected all the speakers, but on the back of the onkyo, I noticed that there was only 1 set of speaker connections for height, and then there is a zone speaker pair open, so I connected the 2nd height pair to that. Everywhere you look this avr gets rave reviews and is difficult to get. So I got an Onkyo RZ-50, and an Emotiva 3 channel amp to drive the 3 front speakers. I heard that most 9.2 avrs need an ext amp to get full 7.1.4 atmos as they need an amp to drive the remaining 2 channels. Surround left, Right, surround back left and right, and 4 in ceiling speakers above for atmos. I have left, center, right front speakers. After much time researching in order to achieve a 7.1.4 atmos setup.
